The Bardsville cabins
Property of the Fjord-du-Saguenay RCM since 2012, the Bardsville point fishing site is located in the unorganized territory of Mont-Valin. Located close to the Parc National du Fjord-du-Saguenay, between the municipalities of Sainte-Rose-du-Nord and Sacré-Cœur. This site testifies to the era of private fishing clubs in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean within natural surroundings, encompassed by the Sainte-Marguerite River and Mont Arthur-Leblanc.
The Association de la Rivière Sainte-Marguerite is the organization responsible for the site’s management and operation.
Heritage
The heritage character of the Bardsville point fishing site lies more specifically under the context of the presence of private salmon fishing clubs established along Saguenay’s tributary rivers in the 1800’s. Only a few public sites of this genre still remain in service in Quebec.
Accommodations
Five cabins constructed for accommodations have been renovated and are available to rent. Every cabin is comfortable and is equipped with a washroom, 2 bedrooms and a common area for the dining room and kitchen. Far from the conveniences of urban life, the sites offer proximity to nature that are conducive to contemplation and relaxation. The panoramic views are phenomenal and the sites infused with history.
